🪵 From the Hearth – Week of August 11

Welcome back to the hearth! This week has been full of farm-fresh eggs, buttery baked goods, and the return of something long-awaited: handmade soaps. Let’s take a peek behind the scenes and share what’s fresh from the kitchen and curing on the racks.

🐔 From the Coop: Our Girls Are Laying!

The hens have officially hit their stride. Every day brings a rainbow of eggs—from rich browns to pale blues—and they’ve been earning their keep like pros. These backyard beauties are just one piece of our bigger plan as we slowly build toward farm life. For now, it’s a joy to collect these fresh eggs daily and put them to use in all kinds of bakes.

🍪 In the Kitchen: Sweet Treats & New Additions

This week brought two new goodies to the lineup:

  • Gluten-Free Nutella-Stuffed Cookies
These are loaded with M&Ms, chocolate chips, and a gooey Nutella center. Reviews have been rave-worthy, and we’re thrilled to offer something gluten-free that doesn’t compromise on texture or flavor.

  • Sourdough Banana Bread
Made with our signature sourdough discard, this banana bread is tender, flavorful, and perfect for breakfast or dessert. It's a cozy slice of home, and we’re excited to add it to the shop.

🧼 Back in Stock: Handmade Soaps

After a long pause, soap is back! We’ve returned to our roots, blending old-world ingredients like tallow and goat milk instead of imported oils. These bars are rich, nourishing, and made with care right here at home.

This week’s release includes:

  • Juicy Pear – bright, fresh, and just sweet enough
  • Artemis – earthy and warm with hints of cedar and sweet musk
  • Avalon – a soft floral blend with notes of apple, citrus, and violet
  • Crisp Autumn Air – minty, woodsy, and the perfect pre-fall scent

Our first release will be live Friday at 6pm CDT. We’ve got more in the works, so stay tuned for seasonal scents, restocks, and maybe even a few surprises.

👩🌾 Looking Ahead

As many of you know, we’re slowly working toward retiring to a small farm. While we’re still in town for now, Hearth & Crafts is growing alongside that dream—one batch of bread, one bar of soap, and one handmade good at a time.

Thanks for being part of this journey. Your support means everything
